Program Info
The academy program offers an enhanced learning environment for those 2015 players who are looking to develop their game further and quicker and have already started to demonstrate a passion and enjoyment for the game. Technical Director, Gary Eyles, will oversee the program including the curriculum content, coaching, and administering. While there are no tryouts, players considering the Ames Soccer Club Academy Program should demonstrate many, if not all, of the player qualities listed below in Who Should Enroll?
Who Should Enroll (Player Qualities)?

Demonstrates sound technical skills (ball control, dribbling, shooting).

Physically stronger, athletically quicker than most players within their age group.

Higher level of coordination and good agility.

During games are aggressive in their attitude and approach to getting involved and tend to dominate play.

Demonstrates a high level of focus and concentration during practices and games = Coachable. Desire to learn and develop.

Started to narrow down the number of extra-curricular activities.

Soccer is a high priority.

Practice with a ball in their own time outside scheduled games and practices.

Coaching Staff
U5-U10 Technical Director, Gary Eyles, will be hands on both from a coaching perspective as well as administratively. Based upon the number of teams that are formed we will form a coaching staff of parents and non-parents. All coaches will complete both in-house and external coaching education and licensing. Potential coaches will apply to the Technical Director to serve as a coach within the program.
Practice Schedule
Practice will be two times per week on Monday and Thursday or Tuesday and Thursday from 4:45 – 6:00 p.m. or 6:00 – 7:15 p.m. Exact schedule will be compiled after the registration window has closed (July 10). There will be Wednesday technical sessions as well running from September 4 - October 23.

League Play
CDL Central U9-U10 Academy League, a request will be made to play games mostly on Saturday afternoons. Other clubs include West Des Moines Soccer Club, Johnston Urbandale Soccer Club, VSA, and Iowa Rush.
Tournaments
Fall = Iowa Soccer tournament OR Just For Girls OR GPS Fall Classic
Winter = TBD
Spring = Iowa Soccer league America Festival OR Just For Girls, Moonlight Classic.
Uniforms
Current Adidas club U7-U10 uniforms.
Cost
$295 per season ($30 late fee on or after February 1).
